Antonov confirms agreement to assess Russia’s An-124-100

KIEV, Nov 3 (PRIME) – Ukraine’s aircraft maker Antonov will make technical assessment of an Antonov An-124-100 Ruslan plane of Russian company Volga-Dnepr, it said on its Facebook page on Friday, confirming Kommersant’s report that Russia and Ukraine are in secret talks to resume cooperation to extend An-124-100 Ruslan aircraft flight worthiness.

In exchange, Ukraine will receive documents to extend the service life of military non-combat aircraft Il-76.

Antonov said, “In order to fulfill the obligations under an inter-authority agreement with the authorised ministries and authorities of Ukraine … Antonov will fulfill works on technical assessment of an An-124-100 Ruslan jet of Volga-Dnepr, which is not on the list of companies to which sanctions are applied under a decision by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.”
